1997. Foundation of HMC Premedical
The history of HMC has its origins in the founder, Giuseppe Bisi. Since the late ’60s, he has been a key player in the pioneering events that saw the birth and flourishing of the Mirandola Biomedical District.
HMC Group’s core business originated in 1997 with the trade of components. The entrepreneurial drive of Giuseppe Bisi, together with the expertise of his team and strategic acquisitions, has led to significant growth and transformation over time.
2003. Acquisition of Premedical
HMC acquires Premedical, a company specialized in the production and distribution of disposable medical devices, with its own CE mark.
2004. New Facility in Mirandola
Establishment in 2004 of a new facility in Mirandola: 4,000 square meters, ISO class 8 clean room for the production of medical devices, molding department.
2006. Birth of the Extrusion Department
HMC creates its first tube extrusion department.
2008. Acquisition of Meditea
HMC acquires Meditea, a company linked to the multinational market specialized in the production of medical devices and tube extrusion activities.
2010. Foundation of VOJMEDICAL
In Serbia, HMC founds Voj Medical for the assembly of medical devices.
2011. Acquisition of Macosta
HMC acquires Macosta, specialized in injection molding and, through an internal workshop, in mold construction.
2012. The Earthquake and Its Consequences
The night between May 19 and 20, 2012, also represented a significant problem for HMC. After inspections, the will of the owners and employees was to continue. It wasn’t a given.
Two days later, HMC restarted: with production and a great desire to move forward.
A few days later, the second earthquake that hit Emilia forced the relocation of production to Rubiera (in the province of Reggio Emilia). On July 30, 2012, HMC was already ready with 1,500 square meters of clean room, with extrusion and molding capabilities.
2013. A new logo for the HMC Group
Recognizing the need to strengthen its visual identity and refresh its corporate image, HMC Group has launched a new communication strategy and introduced a new institutional logo.
2014. New Facility
In 2014, following the 2012 earthquake, HMC Group completed and inaugurated two new facilities, marking a significant milestone in its growth and resilience.
The first, located in Medolla, spans 2,500 m² and is entirely dedicated to storage and logistics.
The second, in Mirandola, covers 7,500 m² and is focused on production, featuring:
– 2,500 m² of cleanroom space for molding, extrusion, and automatic assembly
– A mechanical workshop for maintenance, design, and mold construction
– Executive, commercial, technical, and administrative offices
2017. Acquisition of Medicina
Medicina UK is an English company, based in Bolton, that deals with the marketing of medical devices for enteral nutrition in the domestic market and plays a fundamental role in international development.
2018. Acquisition of Polymed
HMC acquires POLYMED regarding devices for fluid flow control.
2023. Acquisition of DIMAR
Focused on the production of components for medical devices, Dimar is particularly active in the “anesthesia and respiratory therapy sector. The company is committed to providing high-precision components to ensure the safety and” effectiveness of medical treatments.
Created by Maurizio Borsari in 2002, DIMAR has always aimed to develop a global philosophy on NIV, supported by innovative technologies not present in the global market.
